Request your APEXA setup
Ask the contracting department for an invitation, then maintain your centralized contracting and compliance profile.
What is APEXA? APEXA is a Canadian digital contracting and compliance platform used by participating insurance advisors, MGAs and insurers. It helps streamline advisor screening, electronic contracts, licence and E&O tracking, and renewal alerts. APEXA is a platform—not a regulator or a substitute for your insurance licence.
Why do participating insurers and MGAs use it?
APEXA standardizes information gathered during onboarding; helps validate current licences and E&O insurance; supports screening, electronic agreements and attestations; and can alert contracting partners to expiries or changes. A shared advisor profile reduces repeated paperwork and helps participating firms maintain oversight.
Registration starts with the contracting department. If your MGA participates, request its APEXA invitation. Follow its secure link to complete your account. Not every insurer or MGA uses the platform or the same workflow.
Keep responsibilities separate: An APEXA profile or completed electronic contract does not itself confirm an active insurer appointment. Verify authorization, product eligibility and agent-code activation directly with the contracting department. APEXA is for advisor contracting data, not client insurance records.

Some insurers require an eligible First Piece of Business (FPB) before issuing or activating an agent/producer code. Ask your brokerage or contracting administrator whether this applies, what preliminary approval is needed, and how to submit an application while a code is pending. An FPB must be based on a genuine client need and appropriate recommendation—not a sale made simply to obtain a code.
Before your first application: A licence alone does not establish authorization to submit business for every insurer. Confirm the permitted contracting/appointment stage, sponsorship and product authority, and obtain written instructions before any submission. Keep final activation confirmation on file.
